Egg Nog Cupcakes

Our little town has a tour of homes each year with a sweet shop to raise money. This year I made egg nog cupcakes to donate for the sweet shop. They were fabulous, but I must warn you, they were so rich!

Here's the recipe:
1 box French vanilla cake mix
1 stick of butter, melted
1 cup of egg nog
3 eggs
1 tsp. nutmeg

Line 24 muffin cups and preheat oven to 350.
Combine ingredients, mix on low speed for 30 sec. Then up to medium speed for two minutes. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Let cool, ice with egg nog butter cream. Icing recipe below:

3 1/2 cups sifted powder sugar.
1 stick of butter softened
4 to 6 tbs of egg nog
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Cream butter and 3-4 tbs of egg nog, add nutmeg then powdered sugar. Cream and add egg nog until its thin enough to spread.

Warning: this will put you in sugar shock and holiday bliss... At the same time!

My No Cost Rustic Elegant Dining Room Table Decor.

Today I wanted to play a little... Just a little since I really had other things to do. I mean, Have you heard? It is only 22 days til Christmas! Anyway, I decided to play with decorations for my dining room table. Last year our family started a tradition - we ate on our fine china for dinner at night for the month of December. It was a wonderful experience! Even with a 6 and a 3 year old, our dinners were wonderful! This year we started again. So today my baby and I played at decorating out table. This is what we came up with...

What do you think. We used everything we had already, and even clipped the greenery from our yard! It's rosemary, and Nandina clippings in the vase. Here's a shot of my helper

Another angle for you to enjoy:

Merry Christmas! Happy dining!
